This fictional product utilises the notion of a ‘dashboard’ as a metaphor for a complex GUI. It allows a user to manage a multitude of variables in a clear and organised manner. In this case the subject of investigation is Industrial Design, and the typology is a guitar effects pedal. Users are invited to explore the many variables and influences on the design process; by considering issues such as sustainability, forgery and carbon footprint, alongside branding, profit and market saturation.
